BPEC Domestic Ventilation Systems

These courses cover the Water Byelaws 2014 (Scotland) and Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and meet the requirements of WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) of which the majority of the UK water companies are members.

These courses aim to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Vented and Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards.

The course material has been designed to meet the requirements of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012. The installation of these EESS is work that can be carried out by competent, qualified operatives holding appropriate pre-requisite qualifications and the aim of the training course is to ensure individuals have the knowledge and required skills to carry out this work.

These courses aim to help plumbers and heating engineers who want to install Heat Pumps to comply with the appropriate Building Regulations and Standards. The BPEC Heat Pump Systems programme is recognised as a demonstration of competence for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

An Introduction to Thermography course teaches the principles and applications of thermal imaging technology for detecting heat loss, moisture intrusion, and other issues in both domestic and commercial buildings, supporting energy efficiency improvements and building diagnostics.

Domestic Retrofit in Practice is a two-day, hands-on workshop designed to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge on improving home energy efficiency. The course covers topics such as insulation, ventilation, and sustainable retrofitting techniques. Participants will leave with the ability to contribute to Scotland’s drive for greener housing by improving home energy efficiency in their communities

This Level 2 qualification provides learners with a range of knowledge and skills. Learners will also develop an understanding of the causes of damp, condensation, and mould in domestic dwellings, how to identify, remedy and treat it, and its socio-economic impact on individuals and communities, for working in the building maintenance or housing industry.
