City & Guilds Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing (2377-77) (formerly PAT Testing)

This course was updated in November 2020 and is aimed at electricians or anyone else involved in maintenance and testing of electrical equipment. It is intended for those who are required to update their knowledge of legislation, need a better understating of different types of equipment, assist with affirming who has responsibilities for equipment maintenance and demonstrating practical aspects of how to use test instruments effectively. Description

This course includes both a theory and practical assessment and covers all aspects of how to inspect and test different types of electrical equipment along with introducing a new risk assessment approach to determine frequency of inspection and highlighting duty holder responsibilities of personnel involved in record keeping and management of equipment maintenance.

 

Although the 2377-77 course is 2 days on campus, please note the online exam will be held on the 3rd day, details of this will be confirmed on first day of attendance.

This course covers content primarily from the 5th edition of the IET Code of Practice for In service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and gives guidance to:

  • Users of equipment

  • Persons undertaking the practical inspection and testing of equipment and

  • Persons with duty holder responsibilities

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must be aged 18 or over to qualify for this course

  • A qualification in Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing is for practising electricians who want to progress in their career or move on to further study
