CompEx 05-06 provides individual candidates with the relevant training and practical assessments on the installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical and instrumental systems in an environment where combustible dust may be present. **Please note we recommend completing the CompEx Foundation 1 Day Course as a prerequisite prior to attending this course.**
Our training facilities are unique and custom built to include a realistic working environment and simulated hazardous areas. This course is split into separate sections and each candidate will be assessed on the practical skills and theoretical knowledge that they have obtained. They will be required to complete 2 practical assessments (1 installation and 1 inspection) and finally complete the multiple choice question paper. Successful completion of this course will result in a nationally recognised certificate.
We provide complimentary hot and/or cold food and drinks at breakfast andlunchtimes. Wi-Fi available throughout your visit.

This course may be eligible for ITA funding. You may be eligible if you are:
Aged 16 or over
Not in education or involved in any other SDS funded programme
Unemployed and looking to get back into work
Employed and earning less than £22,000 per year
Resident in Scotland
If you wish to use ITA funding towards the cost of this course, you must first apply for the ITA funding through the My World of Work website. ITA funding will cover up to £200 of course fees. There are various start dates throughout the academic session, please contact training@forthvalley.ac.uk to check available dates prior to applying for ITA funding.
Once you’ve applied for funding, you will receive a confirmation email from SDS and the college with instructions on how to book your course.
