Designed for those new to project management or seeking to build a stronger foundation, it explores the project lifecycle, planning tools, and the role of the project manager in leading teams and delivering successful outcomes. Combining practical techniques with real-world application, the course provides participants with the knowledge and confidence to manage projects from initiation through to review.
Attending this course will help you to:
- Identify the various stages of the Project Lifecycle
- Understand how projects start – the Business Case, and the Project Life Cycle
- Identify the definition of project management
- Understand various Project methodologies, and explore the similarities and differences between traditional and agile project management
- Determine how organizational structure affects projects
- Set Objectives
- Write a ‘Terms of Reference’ for a project; and distinguish the best ways to craft a quality plan
- Recognise the roles and responsibilities within a project; and explore the fundamentals of analyzing project stakeholders
- Understand the role of the Project Manager when managing individuals and teams
- Understand the importance of a communication plan for a project
- Plan a project using project management techniques: Work Breakdown Structures, Estimating, Resource Loading, Budgeting
- Identify the critical path through a project
- Understand basic elements of risk analysis and management as well as change management
