The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive training sessions and how to assess and give constructive feedback.

The City & Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills is designed to provide the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training. It is comprehensive in content at this level, building the skills, knowledge and abilities of a participant that is required to be an effective trainer.

Course Overview This intensive practical preparation course is designed to support candidates preparing for CompEx Hazardous Area courses or assessments including for example Ex01–04 (Gas & Vapours) & Ex05–06 (Dust) & Ex09-10 (Water Utilities). The course focuses on developing hands on cable glanding, termination and installation skills, aligned with CompEx assessment expectations. It is ideal for candidates who want structured practical practice before attending a formal CompEx assessment.

Introduction to safe working practices in Hazardous Areas (ExA)

Installation and inspection of Ex equipment for Water Treatment Facilities (Ex09-Ex10)

Foundation in the safe working practices and the theoretical use of Ex equipment (ExF)

Foundation in the theoretical and practical use of Ex equipment (ExF+)

Installation, inspection and maintenance of Ex electrical equipment where gas and vapours are present.

Installation and inspection of Ex mechanical (non-electrical) equipment (Ex11)

All CompEx certified practitioners are required to recertify every 5 years. There are two routes for recertification for Gas and Vapours (Ex01 – Ex04).

Installation, inspection and maintenance of Ex electrical equipment where dust is present (Ex05-06)

Engineering design of Ex electrical and instrumentation installations (Ex12)

Management of Ex equipment and personnel in Hazardous Areas (Ex14)

If you're a practising electrician, or someone interested in upskilling their knowledge in requirements for electrical installations this course will enhance your understanding in this key area of Electrical Safety.

The Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR) Course is a must for anyone who needs to understand the electrical regulations as part of their job role.

This course was updated in November 2020 and is aimed at electricians or anyone else involved in maintenance and testing of electrical equipment.

Please be aware this is a 5 day course in week one. Week two attendance is required for one day between Monday - Thursday to carry out the Practical Exam with a further Online Exam on the Friday morning.

This course provides all technical personnel with the knowledge and understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR) and INEOS Electrical Safety Rules required for authorisation to undertake or support electrical and mechanical isolation processes. It ensures consistent application of safe systems of work, reinforces compliance, and develops the competence needed to carry out isolations, lock-out/tag-out, and proving-dead procedures safely and effectively.

The course material has been designed to meet the requirements of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012. The installation of these EESS is work that can be carried out by competent, qualified operatives holding appropriate pre-requisite qualifications and the aim of the training course is to ensure individuals have the knowledge and required skills to carry out this work.
