Leading and Motivating High Performance Teams
This course challenges delegates to consider what motivates people at work and review a range of motivational techniques in order to create a high performing team. The role of feedback and the tools to monitor effectiveness of applied motivational techniques will be explored as well.
Description
To enable delegates to understand what motivates people at work and apply appropriate motivational techniques for teams and individuals in order to lead teams effectively.
Participants will be able to:
- Explain process of developing a high performing team
- Analyse leadership styles and factors contributing to effective team leadership
- Describe techniques for effective team communication
- Reduce conflict in teams through use of collaborate approaches to team working
- Plan appropriate actions to develop teams
Content
Through group discussions and participation in a number of practical exercises delegates will work through a range of techniques and skills. The content of the workshop includes:
- Developing a high performing team (creating and sustaining values, expectations and ground rules that inspire and motivate team members, enablers and barriers, Tuckman model of team stages – how do you manage each stage?, Team standards and goals, your team vision)
- Leadership styles and effective team leadership (understand your own style and how to develop high performing teams)
- Communicating and working with your team– set clear objectives and delegate and empower your team
- Creating collaboration – learn how to create a collaborative culture within and between teams, and minimise the risk of conflict
- Resolving conflict – deal with difficult team situations, facilitating positive outcomes, identifying sources of conflict and resolution skills
- Developing own Personal Action Plan

This programme is a one day course in which participants will use group discussions, supported by “real plays” and case studies to ensure a lively and practically focused workshop.
